The XIV International Symposium on Genetics in Aquaculture (ISGA XIV) was a highly esteemed event that took place in Puerto Varas, Chile. Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the symposium successfully brought together experts and professionals from around the world to share the latest research on genetics and genomics for enhancing efficiency and sustainability in aquaculture. The program featured engaging plenary talks, oral sessions, pitch sessions, and poster presentations covering a diverse range of topics, including quantitative genetics, disease and stress genetics, genomics, genomic prediction, gene editing, and population genetics. Additionally, the dedicated “Industry Day” provided a platform for industry applications in genetics. The symposium proved to be an invaluable opportunity for networking, knowledge exchange, and collaboration among participants, shaping the future of genetics in the field of aquaculture.
